And it’s true that the greater the cost, the greater the sorrow when it eventually gets broken. But it isn’t cheap, at $399/£399 if bought through the Sonos website. Sonos Move Travel BagĪs we’ve already mentioned, we’re big fans of the Sonos Move. It’s designed for the outdoors, comes with wood, studwork, brick and masonry fixings, is a doddle to install and ensures that nobody breaks your Sonos Move at your future garden parties. That’s because it’s a wall bracket, but it does a necessary job well. The Mountson Bracket is not particularly sexy. If that’s you, then you need the Mountson Premium Mount Bracket. It’s also pretty well designed for an at-home setup, especially for the lucky people who own something called ‘a garden’. The fully waterproof speaker is perfect for summer park days or for blaring out bangers at the back of the bus (we’re not judging what you do with it). Even better, you can then throw that sound to any other Sonos components in your house just as you would with your digital tunes.Īs we somewhat covered in our review, the Sonos Move should be slightly below passport and one space above local currency on your list of holiday essentials. Hey presto! Your vinyl is now playing through your Sonos speaker. Simply hook it up to a Sonos player with an aux input – say, the Sonos Five – then stick on your favourite record. It features a RB110 tonearm built with ultra-low friction bearings, a low noise motor that should reduce skipping, and comes with a satisfying matte finish.īut what if you already have a turntable and aren’t ready to upgrade? Then there’s a little hack you can try. It’s a budget-friendly deck that is billed as entry point, but would continue to perform well as your vinyl collection grows. The Sonos Five compatible Rega Planar 1 is a fantastic plug and play turntable that brings depth and warmth to any record. But the Pro-Ject T1 is pipped to the ‘best Sonos friendly turntable’ post by the Rega Planar 1. It’s easy to use, comes in at just 3.8kg and is perfect for a home turntable setup that will suit most home decors. The Pro-Ject T1 Turntable is a nifty little belt-drive turntable that is built for Sonos. But you can integrate vinyl into your setup. Had I known what a hassle it would have been to figure out the solution, secure the additional parts and the time I invested in this seemingly easy project, I would have just bought the Sonos branded mount that attaches to the wall.Sonos may appear to be about as far from the analogue age as it’s possible to get, what with all its technological bells and whistles. Will likely take a person longer than that just to take their tv off the wall and remove the already installed wall mount.Īll and all I am happy with the finished product. Not sure why they made the mount for 55” or larger TVs.Īnother star for not including the extra mounting hardware.Ī third star for having the nerve to advertise a 15 minute install time. A TV of this size would be one of the most appropriate for a Beam. I check five different model 40” Samsung’s that I have at home and at my businesses and all would have been impacted by this design flaw. I deducted one star for the design flaw, Samsung’s are one of the most popular TVs around. Bolts I had to order from Home Depot for about $10. The spacers I was able to use some left over from an old tv mount. Two is to buy additional 1/2” spacers and M8圆0mm bolts. One is to cut about 8” off the mount to expose the power port. The way the mount will cover the power input for the tv. In order for this mount to work with Samsung 40” flat screen you must buy extra spacers and 60mm M8 screws (not easy to find). Extra Parts Needed Bought this for my Beam and 40” Samsung.
